Saskatoon Seals
We are underwater hockey players, we come in peace.
We are a crazy team of underwater football and hockey players. They say we are a recreational club, however we have two experienced coaches training us. We train hard in the pool and play fun after that - all of us are friends who hang out a lot also when not in the pool. We are from six different continents of the world and everyone brings a special spice to our great team. Welcome joining us!

Joe Moroch
Position of play: defense
Jo 2 has played ice hockey in Poland, Underwater Football in Winnipeg and UW Hockey in Saskatoon. He is eagerly anticipating his first UW Hockey tournament (of sorts) in Calgary. In his words (limited to only four languages), he is very passionate and enthusiastic about many varied sports. He is always excited each time our team participates in Underwater Hockey and Underwater Football tournaments and is looking forward to many more travel opportunities, playing his way around the world!
Jacques Toupin
Position of play: defense
Entraineur and organizer, I do it because I need a team to play with. I've played all positions and in many places in this country, though never outside. I've lived in Calgary, Yellowknife, Edmonton and Saskatoon and in my own head. Often accused of being too easy on the newbies, no one has really seen the Dark Side of the the UW Sports training guy....
Kellan O'Kane
Position of play: defense
Kellan and his little sister Jenay used to be dragged out to the pool when their dad, Mick, came to play UWH with Gerald & Ryan. Eventually it dawned on everyone that there were two additional players in the pool who might enjoy playing hockey more than horsing around in the shallow end. The rest, as they say, is history....
Vikram Baskaran
Position of play: center forward
Realizing she'd never get any peace if someone didn't come out to check out UW hockey, Abi, Vik's wife (a.k.a. "The Boss") sent Vik out to try. Fortunately, he enjoyed it so much he dragged all his friends and co-workers to try too and we've managed to keep the best of them!
Joanne Buan
Position of play: center forward
Joanne was born and raised in the Philippines, can speak 4 International Languages and 4 Philippine Dialects. She devotes a lot of her spare time in volunteering & teaching fitness classes and activities. She is a travel epicure and is a foodie. She has found a second family in the Saskatoon Seals Team and is absolutely enthused each time a new member joins the team!
Aleš Uršič
Position of play: center forward
I'm coming from Slovenia and have moved to one of the coldest cities on Earth on 1st of Oct 2014. I've been doing sports all of my life, they span from table tennis, tennis, badminton to kickboxing and volleyball. But just when I thought I knew everything about sports I stumbled upon this crazy sport called U-hockey. I play center forward and because I like sprinting and the wild action in front of the goal..
Jeanny Buan
Position of play: right wing
Jeanny loves extreme sports such as Sky Diving and wall/ rock climbing, mountain biking, mixed martial arts. She volunteers regularly on behalf of a number of non profit organizations in Saskatoon. In her spare time, she models and acts with a local boutique; she is also a Bikini bodybuilding competitor. She and her sister Joanne (Jo1) can be seen on some of the Seals' advertising posters (sure to be collectors' items!).
MJ
Position of play: defense
MJ is an underwater hockey enthusiast who has been enjoying playing the game for over a year now and loves to hang out with the UWH group at YMCA. In his other life he works as an engineer. He has been in Saskatchewan for almost 14 years now and is thankful that he discovered the UWH club at YMCA to help the cold Saskatchewan winter go by easier.
Maja Primožič
Position of play: left wing
Maja has been a very quick study of our sport, making some outstanding goals (and almost goals in UW Football) after only playing for a few weeks. Her quick absorption of techniques and rapid application of teamwork she has picked up in other sports have made her a well-respected & valued player. That and keeping Aleš in line....
Tri Nguyen
Position of play: defense
Tri was initially a reluctant recruit. Polite to a fault, he agreed to try out our game because it was easier than saying "no". EIther to us or to MyLynn, we're not sure. He is becoming a skilled and valuable addition to the Seals' UWH roster, playing either forward or back with vim & vigour. How he keeps the water out of his snorkel when he is continually ginning like that is his own closely held secret!
Dustin Nelson
Position of play: defense
Dustin really enjoys celebrating his February birthday in Winnipeg, which is why he is a stalwart supported of UW Football. His squash skills make him an excellent technical UWH player and have given him great legs. For speed ladies, for speed in the pool!
Alley Cat
Originally from India, moved to Saskatoon in 2006 for my Masters degree and made this toon town hometown ever since. Engineer by Profession, likes swimming since I was a kid. When heard about UWH he never realized he could play this game as he has claustrophobia. But made his choice to play in late 2013 to get rid of this phobia. Likes the game so much and still getting used to holding breath under water. He is proud to say to his friends that he plays UWH which many of them don't even know that it exists.
